What is mental health?

1- Having a partner. Living as a couple is beneficial for our mental health because it helps reduce the risk of suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s.
2- Sleep 8 hours. As you may have experienced at some time, the lack of sleep makes us irritable and in a bad mood. Sleeping is good for memory , stress and relaxing our brain, although it does not rest, it does reduce its activity when we sleep.
3- Exercise. Exercise is a good remedy for many of the mental problems. While we practice it, we get distracted and focus on the activity we are doing. In addition, it generates serotonin and releases stress.
4- Mental exercises. In the same way as sports, doing mental exercises helps us to distract ourselves and concentrate on a specific task. We will also train our mental capacity. Therefore, exercises like sudoku or soups are highly recommended.
5- Take care of the diet. What we eat is also important for our mental health. We have to pay special attention to fruit and vegetables and avoid fatty or high sugar foods. It is also important the time we spend to eat, we must eat slowly and without getting impatient.
6- Have a positive attitude. We always have to try to have a positive attitude. Oddly enough, the mere fact of having this attitude greatly helps our mind.
7- Do things that you like. If you do activities that you like, you will also help to improve your mood and, consequently, improve your mental health.
